| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Oct 26, 2006 Pours a beautiful black with a huge, solid, dark brown head. Aroma is fruity, soy sauce, and reminiscent of some weirder vegetables: leeks and string beans, perhaps. Flavor is similar, fruitier, some roastiness in the finish, still pretty dry, but round in weird way. I’m not really sure what to make of this thing. ehhdayton (1115), USA

Hands down the best porter I have ever had. (bottled in 2000) Pours black smells of chocolate and coffee. Incredible smooth(not overly sweet) chocolate flavor that just gets better as the beer warms up. Full body ,great after taste. | 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Sep 26, 2006 Pours a pitch-black chocolate color with brown edges; attractive head formation and good lacing. The aroma shows rum raisins, some dark chocolate. Definite vanilla notes, raisins, milk chocolate, roasted malt character, with some smoke and a slightly charred taste on the finish (all well-integrated). A very tasty, very drinkable porter.
