500 ml can. Very dark brown. Light brown head is firm, cloud-like tructured and creamy. Roasted and sweeter malts, sour coffee and light hops in the aroma. Decent coffee notes in the finish. Nice change from sour coffee to dry malty caramel in the finish. Quite dry after all. A bit watery, but creamy smooth palate. One of the better beers in the standard Finnish market selection.

Very dark brown colour, a fair beige head. Aroma has roasted sweet malts with notes of coffee and dark chocolate. Light, dry mouthfeel, quite a lot carbonation.

Staunch, tan head textured like whipped cream floats on dark but clear brown body, leaving tight lacing behind. Roast and chocolate are immediately welcoming in the nose and set against a bristly herbal element. From that enters a perplexing note of Bakelite. Still, it’s not too discouraging and there’s a pleasing scent of cherries and white toast that eventually makes itself known. The flavour lacks more than a very curt, bready sweetness and is primarily guided by roast, cocoa and pungent herbs. The finish is rather disappointing with a shot of astringency. Toasted bread lingers in the mouth. Definitely on the drier side and just under medium bodied with too soft carbonation. As it stands, about average. If not for the Bakelite and if there was more sweetness or sturdier carbonation this could be a good one. 50cl can, bbe 06/01/2009.

Bottle. Dark, ruby red pour, topped by a dense, beige head. Roasted, slightly coffee-bitter aroma, with some fruits, unfortunately it vanishes rather quickly. The flavor has some bitterness, a weak coffee note, and some grainyness, leading to a quite subdued finish with coffee and some hoppy bitterness. Medium body. Quite nice, pleasant and quaffable, but not too interesting. (0708015)

Can. Pours a deep brown almost black colour. Sweet roasty maltiness in the aroma along with some chocolate and coffee. The flavour is sweet with roasted caramel and malt, some chocolate, coffee and bitter hops. Roasty sweet finish. Thank Pat!

Black color, thick head. Soft, but thin aroma. Some metallic notes. Dark, easy flavor. Coal-like bitterish ending.
