Very dry with pronounced notes of the roasted malts, but not really bitter. Top fermented and closer to a dry Irish stout than an ale. A bit like Guinness in Finnish. 160405 omhper (12218), Stockholm, Sweden
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Jun 28, 2002 Very dark brown. Coffee aroma. Rather light bodied, velvetty mouth feel, medium bitterness. Well balanced, but not overly complex. Surprisingly good for being a Koff. fonefan (11473), VestJylland, Denmark
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Jan 28, 2007 Bottle. Clear dark red / brown color with a average good lacing light brown head. Aroma is moderate malty, roasted, chocolate, coffe. Flavor moderate sweet and light bitter with a short duration. Body is light to medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft, finish feel is moderate to heavy metalic. No my kind of schwartzbier !! oh6gdx (8838), Vasa, Finland
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 5/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Apr 21, 2005 Bottled. Black opaque, huge brown creamy/foamy longlasting head. Lacing. Aroma of paperfactory... also some roasted malt as well as old coffee aroma is present. Weak roasted malt in flavour, as well as some sweetish hints. A bit stoutlike as for the roastiness. Sticky palate, and roasted, semibitterish aftertaste. Oakes (8093), gone rambling, Vietnam

And, they don’t require the use of nitrogen to get it. fiulijn (7150), Como; Lausanne (CH); Malmö (SWE), Italy

Almost opaque. Tanned creamy head. Aroma sweet and coffee. Starts bitter, medium thin, sweet toffee and roasted malt, some bitter hops in the end. Just too thin to be excellent beer and needs more ABV but otherwise complex enough and one of the best from KOFF brand, like a little brother of brewery's world famous Porter.(6/5/7/4/14 3.6)
Re-rate: (Bottled, BB 03/2005)
Opaque black with tanned brown medium head. Roasted malt, rubbery aroma. Roasted, slightly sweet and medium-bodied. This is not "an ale" but more like "Schwarzbier". (6/5/5/3/14 3.3)
