Very basic flavour. Unispired boring Canadian lager. But. At least it tastes like malt instead of corn and cardboard. Nice work kokanee gold. troyc (1175), Lubbock, Texas, USA
| 2.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 2/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 10/20 | Nov 5, 2009 [Bottle] Pours a clear, bright amber color without much head. Aroma of light caramel and some biscuit. Taste is of sweet grains and light toffee. Mouthfeel is definitely on the light side. Moderate carbonation. Better than the light version and quite drinkable, but nothing special here. MexiFinn (44), Las Vegas, Nevada, USA
| 2.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 4/5 | 8/20 | Oct 3, 2009 Actually one of my favorite Canadian beers, it’s not a great beer, but it has a unique flavor... golden amber, sweet finish, very drinkable. Great for relaxing on a freezing winter day, picturing birds singing and majestic salmon swimming in a stream with the brewer’s water intake right by... Cheers! humulushound (133), British Columbia, Canada
| 2.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 8/20 | Aug 31, 2009 On tap in Whistler. Yellow-amber color. Probably called gold for marketing, obviously not a goldbrau. Caramel and light grass in the nose. Taste is grain, bread caramel. Lacks depth and duration of flavor. COuld have been refreshing if served colder but at least it had no funk and tastes like it wants to be better than it is. MrRoss (617), Delta, British Columbia, Canada
| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Aug 18, 2009 Actually worse than the regular Kokanee. A nice, amber colour with a decent aroma but the taste.... Something about this beer is wrong to me and I can’t place it - an odd but not unpleasant taste. Morning-after is brutal with this stuff. | 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Aug 3, 2009 Keg at my cousin’s wedding in Idaho. This was the best beer available, sadly. Amber pour with hefty carbonation and almost no head. Aroma was very grainy, bready and a little caramel malt. Flavor was caramel mainly, with some other light, sugary notes and grain. Pretty refreshing on a hot ass night. bulldogops (159), Alberta, Canada
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Aug 3, 2009 On tap @ Crown & Tower in St. Albert. Clear, amber pour with a weak, white head. Aroma is very weak, grains and malt.
Taste is mild sweetness, grains and very malty. Overall, a pretty good beer but nothing to get excited about. Cavie (1441), Fort Worth, Texas, USA
