Commercial Description:
Kokanee is a 5.0 percent alcohol (by volume) lager that is smooth, clean and lightly hopped. It is brewed with mountain stream fed water and a blend of 3 malts and features a unique combination of superior Western-grown North American hops. Brewed in the Kootenay Mountains of British Columbia by the Columbia Brewing Company, Kokanee is British Columbia's most popular beer over the last 10 years. Since its introduction to the Northwest U.S. in the summer of 1994, many people have discovered and enjoyed Kokanee's cool, crisp, glacier fresh taste.

341 ml Bottle. I was pleasantly surprised when I had this beer. I was expecting something so mass produced to be really shitty but it acctually wasnt that bad. Nothing fantastic, but not bad. Taste of corn, a bit of hops, and a decent carbonation. I’d probably buy it again, but like I said, nothing special.

Draft at heart and crown in ottawa Canada. Pours a clear golden body. Aroma is standard pale lager. Taste is pretty flavorless... but not offensive at all. A decent pale lager

Couple of pitchers @ heart and crown in Ottawa, Ontario. Nice lacing on this brew. Sugary sweet, light hay notes. A solid session lager.. Better than the usual macro.

Can’t beat $9.99 a twelve pack. It was good, not anything special. Average beer, alittle more watery, but I guess that goes with being a Glacier Beer. On sale all over Boise too, so bottles up I guess.

12 oz. bottle- Pours pale golden with little head, aroma is some sweetness but mostly pretty bland, just like the taste. This beer is very watered down, almost like a light beer, I don’t get what the mass appeal of this beer is here in the Northwest. I would take a Coors Original or Pabst Blue Ribbon or even a Hamms over this any day.

12 oz bottle. Smells of grains and it’s a bit nutty. Looks like your average macro swill, even if it was made in a "small mountain brewery." Tastes much better than those macros, however. I was expecting it to be just as bad as Bud, Miller, or Coors, but it is better. Average carbonation. Kind of watery, just like those aforemetioned macros. I am pleasantly surprised by it. Now for my personal backstory on this beer. I used to drink this all the time. It was my go-to beer for mindless drunken consumption (camping, poker, drinking games, etc.). A year ago I stopped drinking it after I learned of the InBev acquisition. When I was drinking it, I used to tell everyone how much better it was than the big three macros. Now that I’m on Rate Beer and have reviewed it I can honestly say that there was some truth to those bold statements. It is better than the big three, but not by as much as I used to boast. It’s kind of hard for people in different parts of the country to believe, but here in North Idaho (the Canadian border is in spitting distance) this beer sells almost as much as Coors Light and Budweiser, and actually outsells all of Miller’s beers by a longshot. Pretty good for a small brewery, even if they only produce this fairly boring swill.

[Bottle] Pours a clear light yellow color with plenty of fizzy white head. Aroma of corn and some assorted grains. Taste is very similar, with a high carbonation level. Pretty clean taste all in all, but still a pale lager at heart.

My choice for worst Canadian macros. Light-bodied, watery and weak. Still better than Bud, Miller, etc.

12 oz. can courtesy of tytoanderso - Pours a clear light golden color with a one and a half finger thick white head. Light lacing. Aroma is light grain and herbal hops. Flavor is the same. Lingering malt finish. Light body. Not bad. Thanks Tyler.
