Commercial Description:
Kokanee is a 5.0 percent alcohol (by volume) lager that is smooth, clean and lightly hopped. It is brewed with mountain stream fed water and a blend of 3 malts and features a unique combination of superior Western-grown North American hops. Brewed in the Kootenay Mountains of British Columbia by the Columbia Brewing Company, Kokanee is British Columbia's most popular beer over the last 10 years. Since its introduction to the Northwest U.S. in the summer of 1994, many people have discovered and enjoyed Kokanee's cool, crisp, glacier fresh taste.

This is my favorite commercial lager. It’s nothing fancy but I’ve tied many Canadian memories to the beer. Like others have said this is a simple, clean beer.

Last beer sampled during Swig-a-Swill Guzzler in St Paul, MN. From a 12-oz bottle pours a clear golden pale brew with a thin white head that quickly dissipates to a thin white ring. Aroma of golden grain malt, corn, and grassy hops. Taste is light bodied, some carbonation with flavors of golden grain malt, corn and grassy hops. Finish is very watery and then a clean aftertaste.

Pours a pale straw yellow out of can with a medium sized head that runs away very quickly. Aroma is of a sour mash corn, grain, grass, something musty... possibly cardboard, crappy smelling. Tastes of sour corn, cardboard, grass, and soap. Bla! Bad mouthfeel and bad aftertaste. Who drinks this garbage?

Bottle. Pours golden yellow with a decent white head. Taste is of malt and is on the sweet side. Aroma is much the same. I like this beer as it is pretty satisfying and refreshing. Well worth buying every now and then.

Pale, yellow, clear. Not much aroma or flavour. Slightly sweet. Very light body. Pretty ordinary.

For being a mass produced cheap beer, it’s not too bad. I would drink it if on special somewhere.
