Commercial Description:
Zoigl brewed with 100% malt, but top-fermented in stead of bottom fermented, so that the Zoigl has some weizenbier characteristics.

(bottle) pours a deep hazy golden colour with a frothy off-white head. very hoppy and fruity aroma, with some very pronounced notes of pineapple and some light grain. flavour is mostly grain and popcorn with a hint of fruitiness. medium body with smooth carbonation. an excellent weizen!

draft at schoilmichl stube, 2009 tag der kommunbrauer. nose is sugar and creamed bananas, wonderfully rich and delicate spiced fruit yeast esters. silky and delicate texture. strong banana, little bit of cocoa, some caramelized/browned banana peels... thick, silky, amazingly decadent texture. world class weizen-like zoigl and they probably don’t even know it. no wheat used? incredible.

On tap: Solid fruity (bananas) nose, quite stable white head; moderate sweetish-sourish flavour, light to medium bodied, soft MF; light to medium sweet-sourish finish with a fruity touch. Pleasant rural Weizen............

Yoghurt and a touch of flowery hops in the aroma. Banana, citrus and flowers in the flavor. Again a very fruity Schoilmichl beer. And again very well balanced.
