| 1.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 6/20 | Aug 7, 2004 Bright yellow color with little head retention. Nose is not really there, maybe a bit of malt. Palate is light with some malt notes and faint hops. Refreshing, but nothing standout. Not bad if I was at the beach. hopdog (5604), Lansdale, Pennsylvania, USA

| 2.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 10/20 | Apr 26, 2004 Has an orangeish amber color with little head and moderate carbonation. Has a nice hop smell. Taste is slightly malted and finishes with a somewhat tinny hop bitterness. Overall I am not too happy with the offerings from this brewery. This is not that bad, but I would spend my money elsewere... DerBiermeister (516), Birmingham, Alabama, USA
| 1.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 2/10 | 2/5 | 3/10 | 2/5 | 6/20 | Mar 28, 2004 Depressing. This one is not even as good as the Kona Longboard Lager. It has a poor head like its Longboard counterpart, hosts a mediocre taste, flaunts a coppery finish and aroma, and flops back exhaustably fatiguing, a complete failure, saddening. Overrated and uninspiring in every way. And, as my friend said, 'It's a really pissy smell, dude.' He then proceeded to apologise to me that I had to drink this sad beer as he quaffed his Ayinger Weisse... SDbruboy (1832), San Diego, California, USA

I may have gotten an old bottle - hard to tell the age of some of these things sitting around smaller beer shops... Poured amber yellow, cloudy with a thin head that disappeared almost instantly. Aroma is definitely hoppy, but also slightly sour and skunky. Flavor is light maltiness, with tart, bitter hops and a metallic taste that really says "I'm just a little too old for you young man!". Mouthfeel is pleasant with a still lively carbonation. I look forward to finding another bottle at some point and doing a re-rate. Braudog (3770), Dayton, Ohio, USA

I really enjoyed the clinging, lacy head and the easy taste: not too malty or hoppy. A nice, fresh aroma that was more clean than flowery or fruity. Definitely a nicely complex but not too complicated ale. Perfect for the bright and breezy Hawaiian weather in which it was enjoyed.
