Commercial Description:
Big Wave is a light golden ale with a subtle fruitiness and delicate hop aroma. A smooth, easy drinking refreshing ale. The lightly roasted honey malt contributes to the golden hue of this beer and also gives a slight sweetness that is balanced out by our special blend of hops.

Pours a medium gold color that is slightly hazy and a very small white head. Aroma is sweet grains and sweet. Flavor is slightly sweet and grainy with some residual bitterness. Medium bodied, lively palate.

On tap at the brewery Honolulu: Very clan and crisp with some citric hops. Refreshing with a bit of sweetness.

The last of my Maui brews brought back by Rockley. This is a nice clean pale lager, with subtle melon fruit and floral hop tones, and a clean finish. The perfect beer to have while building my new BBQ on a sunny Calgary Saturday afternoon.

The first of the several beers I tried while in Maui. Pours a hazy nectar color with very little head, but some and some lacing. Sweet fruity tasting with a touch of bitter hops. Not overly flavorful but there’s enough there to be a refreshing brew. I did however feel it was a little too sweet and could have used more hop flavor. Still pretty good in that Hawaiian sun, but what isn’t

Typical with 1 exception. This has an odd bite that suggest something stronger than it should be. This beer isnt going to blow your mind but its a solid release.

Pours a hazy golden color with orange hues. Head is cotton-ball white and very short lived. Aroma is lager hops, corn and barley. Very carbonated taste, sweet with white grapes, orange peel, drying hydrogen peroxide. Despite drying aftertaste, it has a very wet mouth feel overall. Greater hop complexity and presence would be appreciated. As it is, this is just a big sweet, wet beer with misplaced flavors. 12 oz bottle purchased at ABC in Waikiki, Oahu.

No real aroma to speak of...Deep yellow gold. Not much on the attack, but finish is nice and smooth. Could be a little sweeter. Decent palate, maybe could use a little more carbonation. Pretty easy drinker...
