Head dies...malt melon aroma...kiss of hops...pretty decent malt nose really...good body, better than expected. Thank God! Malt, hops(light), and a touch of yeast fruitiness...but mostly malt shows up in this. Nothing to contemplate...solid enough though...a nice surprise as I expected a "golden" ale to be thin and bland. I also had this on tap at a few different places in Maui. Any decent place will have at least one Kona beer. That is a good thing! bitter (1137), Henderson, Nevada, USA

This compares very poorly to Widmer Blond, which is important, since Widmer distributes it in Portland. Bland yellow coloring, bland hop-less aroma, bland malt flavor. | 2.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 2/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 10/20 | Mar 28, 2005 Very light, clear. Unremarkable aroma, not especially notable, a little sweet. Very light flavor. Tingling/zinging carbonation. Let me guess, this is for the tourists sitting on the beach? Kevin (1920), Colorado, USA
