Commercial Description:
Big Wave is a light golden ale with a subtle fruitiness and delicate hop aroma. A smooth, easy drinking refreshing ale. The lightly roasted honey malt contributes to the golden hue of this beer and also gives a slight sweetness that is balanced out by our special blend of hops.

Had this on draft in Hawaii at our hotel and at the Kona Brewery(which is a fantastic place by the way with terrific food). I was hoping I’d be able to find it in Colorado, but no luck. I’m surprised by how low everybody is reviewing this beer.

Orange-yellow with a thin tacky top. Gristy and malty with light fresh tartness. Pretty good.

Clear almost reddish golden ale, looks almost like an IPA. Aroma of floral hops. Taste of malt, citric, , banana(?), cloves (?), with bitter finish. Palate maybe a little thin but nicely fizzy. Overall an ok local brew, came close to being much better. I drank it in Hawaii.

Good when consumed on tap and bottled, a warm, golden color, kind of fizzy, however it has a foul finish. A disappointing way to end a semi-good beer.

(23Mar2003--bottle in Kona) 5% ABV, 20 IBU. Having tried to brew this style myself, I'd say that any beer without major faults receives an automatic 10/20. Good crisp feel, appropriate for the style. Nothing too complex, but good notes of malt and a pleasant light hop presence.

Pours with a murky - golden/orangey hue with no head whatsoever. Aroma is breadey, yeasty, some hops, and some citrus fruits Flavor has a breadey beginning to a moderate hoppy ending which makes the beer have a slightly bitter end note. Medium Mouthfeel, with light carbonation not a bad brew at all.

Quite light for an ale but I find it very drinkable. Discovered it while in Kaui so I may be imprinting, but have bought it several times since and would again. The flavor and body works quite well for me, especially after a glass of something heavier.
