Sampled on tap at the brewery in Kona, Hawaii. A black, dark color with a slight ruby red tint, and a small, short, white head. Aroma of chocolate and coffee with some roasty malt. Taste is mostly sweet, some coffee tones too. The beer has a wet and thin body with low carbonation and some tingle on the tongue; slight dryness and bitterness at the end.

Draft at the brewery in company of alohac and fordest. Good times. Deep dark chocolate flavors with hint of hops and coffee. Verly little alcohol presence. Nothing to exciting but pretty good.

This porter pours a deep black color with some reddish highlights from a 12oz bottle. Medium sized tan foamy head. Aroma is malty and roasty, some chocolate and a touch sweet. A medium bodied porter, Malts are chocolate and coffee, touch of sweet malt and vanilla flavors. Hops are slightly earthy. Nice balance. Good roasty and chocolate malts. Perhaps a touch watery, Mouthfeel is a touch thin. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is slightly sweet.

On tap at the brewpub 11/03/2006. Opaque dark brown with a thing light-brown head, evident lacing. Aroma was spot on, char, dark chocolate roast characteristics. Mild dry roast flavor dominates this nicely sweet porter. Smooth, rich with a pleasant lingering bitterness. Solid.
