nqualls (633), Tennessee, USA Jan 1, 2009 On tap at Koko Marina. Poured a dark brown with a one finger brown head. Aroma was of roasted malt with chocolate and coffee notes. Flavor was burned malt with chocolate and coffee, and a bitter finish. The mouthfeel wasn’t very creamy, which would have added a lot to the beer. jeremytoni (656), Swedesboro, New Jersey, USA Oct 30, 2008 From the tap poured a dark brown/black color with a small head. Flavor of toatsed malt with a lingering finish. elihapa (464), Hawaii, USA Aug 13, 2008 On tap, Koko Marina Brewpub. Pours a charcoal-brown with a tan head. Smells of ash, coffee, and dark chocolate. Flavor is ashy, dry, baker’s chocolate, and some coffee. Pretty nice blend. Not as creamy or complex as I would like, but certainly a nice brew. Finishes dry and slightly bitter. Surprisingly easy to drink given the darkness of this porter. Maybe its is flavorful hops? bobaidan (324), Farmington, Connecticut, USA Jul 9, 2008 Pours nearly black with a medium sized brown head. Aroma is primarily roasted malt and chocolate. Moutfeel is full with some good carbonation. Flavor has more of a hop presence than the aroma, but otherwise is pretty similar. A good porter, but I perfer the Pipelline.
