CaptainCougar (4638), Rockville, Maryland, USA Apr 15, 2007 On tap at the 10th Annual San Diego Strong Ale Festival: Pours an opaque black with a nicely-lacing dense frothy dark tan head. Aroma is reminiscent of maple-syrup on waffles with a touch of burnt toast and coffee beans. Body starts sweet, viscous and caramely with some chocolate cookie dough and molten espresso beans. Has a smooth, slightly warming dark chocolate finish with a touch of vanilla bourbon. Nicely balanced, complex and enjoyable. LilKem (1169), Marietta, Ohio, USA Feb 10, 2007 Yay this one’s finally up! :) Had it at the Strong Ale SD Fest at PP in December. Lots of kona coffee, lots of dark chocoalte, and a hint of some coconut oil or pineapple. fruity light hints, all tropical. smells a lot like chocolate tanning lotion. damn good. goldtwins (3734), Nesconset, New York, USA Feb 5, 2007 10th Annual SD Strong Ale Fest: Part of the connoisseur tasting. Very dark brown color with a creamy tan head. Big vanilla aroma with creamy coffee and bourbon. Creamy smooth coffee flavors with bourbon, vanilla and roasted malt. Roasted coffee bitter finish.
