Nose... mild coffee, vanilla and marshmallow creme. Palate... essentially no CO2, rather thin bodied, but a burst of cafe au lait followed by caramel creme, toffee, vanilla and a smooth sweet finish. jfenglish (217), Chicago, Illinois, USA

This is so rich, it’s like drinking dessert. Chocolate cake, espresso, very bitter finish. Thicker than the Pipeline Porter, and a bit richer. Excellent! slowrunner77 (58), reno, USA

Yummy!"

| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jan 19, 2009 Smells like a small shop that sells only coffee. Very dark brown but clear color. Sweet mocha taste, light coffee end. Thin body, almost a porter. The nose on this is great, the rest is good too. nqualls (1428), Nashville, Tennessee, USA
| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Jan 1, 2009 On tap at Koko Marina. Poured a deep brown, almost black with a thin tan head. Aroma was awesome with notes of coffee, chocolate, roasted malt, and dark fruits. Flavor was primarily coffee, but chocolate was present, along with a slightly bitter finish. Full bodied with soft carbonation and a creamy mouthfeel. This was my favorite beer at the pub. elihapa (1070), Honolulu, California, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Dec 28, 2008 On tap, at Koko Marina Brewpub. Pours dark chocolate brown with a small tan head. Aroma is rich with mocha, espresso, and perhaps some fig/plum. There is black coffee, vanilla, and creamy milk chocolate primarily, resulting in a delicious blend that asserts coffee without being weighed down in bitterness. Palate is creamy, and finish is memorably long. I’m proud of my local brewpub for creating something this world class! rustychiles (1068), Mesa, Arizona, USA

Served in a snifter/tulip. The server did not know the name just that it was a coffee imperial stout. I went to the bar to see that the tap handle was indeed Da Grind Buzz. Served way to cold for my liking. After warming up a bit the aroma improved and the taste was much better. Small tan head with great lacing in the glass. Mouthfeel was much better after warming up and left a nice coffee taste in my mouth. Roasted malts and chocolate come through on the finish making this enjoyable. Not my favorite Impy Stout but definently better than most.
