| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Apr 13, 2009 This APA had a lot of promise as I poured it into a shaker glass. The color was a clear and beautiful copper with a generous off-white head. The head left lots of lacing around the glass. The nose was also pretty impressive, with a very citrusy, woody and hoppy aroma. It also had quite a bit of sweetness to it, which isn’t all that common from what I find. But unfortunately, that’s where the impressiveness ends. The body was a little sour with more sweetness mixed in. The finish was also a little sour, but had a nice hoppy and citrusy bite. There was a good amount of flowerly hops to the flavors, but not much dryness or woody notes. The sweetness and slight sourness really ruined this experience for me. It’s certainly a very different tasting interpretation of the APA sytle. Elwood (677), Leesburg, Virginia, USA
| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Apr 12, 2009 12 oz. bottle. Pours a light amber orange with a small, off white head. A light malt in the nose and not much else. Medium carbonation with a medium mouthfeel. Sweet malt, a little caramel, and cardboard on the palate. A very little bitterness on the back end. The finish is short and clean. This beer is very forgettable. Meh. Butters (1651), Virginia, USA
| 2.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 9/20 | Apr 9, 2009 Draft at woody’s. Pours a clear amber with thin off-white head. Nose is citrus orange and a bit floral. Flavors of sweet caramel and some medicinal hop spice. Not as bad as I had expected, but nothing special, other than a Hawaii rating. hotstuff (3175), Indiana, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Apr 7, 2009 Bottle purchased at Total Wine & More (Ft. Myers, FL). Small tan head with good retention, visible carbonation, one ring of lacing, and an orange hue. The aroma consisted of caramel, malt, hops, a whisper of toffee, and semi-sweet. The flavor mimicked the aroma. The mouthfeel was tingly and this is a medium bodied beer. Overall, decent balance, easy to drink, somewhat crisp and refreshing to drink, and like many beers this one too tended to taste better as it warmed up. curly (649), Nashville, Tennessee, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Apr 7, 2009 Pours clear amber with a decent off white head. Has a faint citrus aroma-nothing overly sweet or bitter. Taste is also in the middle which is nice. Caramel smoothness is finished nicely by the piney hop. TheShat (131), Lakewood, Ohio, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Apr 6, 2009 I had this in Hawaii and enjoyed it on tap a lot more than this bottle. Pretty bland actually. Drinkable but nothing special. astrofrk (219), Knoxville, Tennessee, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 2/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Apr 4, 2009 Amber. Fast, soapy head. Aroma: Grass, caramel. Flavor: Grass, fruit, caramel, sweet. Bitter hop finish. Not your usual Pale but there is nothing usual about Hawaii either. If you were ever there, you know what I am saying. slf245 (50), USA
