Commercial Description:
Fire Rock Pale Ale is a crisp, refreshing “Hawaiian-style” pale ale. Its signature copper color results from the unique blend of specialty roasted malts. The pronounced citrus-floral hop aroma comes from the liberal amounts of Galena, Cascade & Mt. Hood hops added to each brew.

On tap at Koko Marina. Poured a clear gold/orange color with a small off white head. Aroma of malt and some grassy notes as well as citrus notes. Flavor was malty with a grassy bitterness. This is a good pale ale.

12 oz bottle pours medium golden yellow in color with a small (one finger) head that sticks around a bit. Grassy/herbal hop aroma with a slight caramel aroma. A small bit of pine in the hop bitterness, but in no way overwhelming. A slightly thin body did have a bit of sweetness, but also cereal type body. A different pale ale than what I am used to and not bad for the beer wastelands of Myrtle Beach. I was amazed that a bottle that was packaged in early Dec made its way all the way from Hawaii to SC in less than a month and for $6.99 a sixer, I was happily surprised.

Bottle. Definitely not fresh, zero hop presence, and a more developed maltiness than in a fresh, crisp pale ale, but despite that, showed some nice features. Rich caramel, honey, brown sugar, and steadily increasing cereals (oat, barley) made for an interesting beer. Would like to see what sort of hops this one presents, but Id drink it again in this form too.

Bottle. Pours a somewhat cloudy orange with a thick white head. Aroma of stale wheat malt and slight fruits. Flavor of raisins, lots of malt. Rather malty for an APA. Just ok for me, would have preferred some more hops in this. 6/4/7/3/13 (3.3/5)

Not sure what make this Hawaiian style seemed pretty average to me. Light hops and a little malt nothing real exciting.

~Pours a cloudy gold color with creamy white head. ~Light hop and berry scent, some caramel. ~Berry and citrus hop flavor, pretty malty as well. Good balance. ~Texture feels a bit off. A bit thick and oily. Quick bittersweet finish. ~Enjoyable brew. A bit more malty than I prefer pale ales too be.
