Commercial Description:
Fire Rock Pale Ale is a crisp, refreshing “Hawaiian-style” pale ale. Its signature copper color results from the unique blend of specialty roasted malts. The pronounced citrus-floral hop aroma comes from the liberal amounts of Galena, Cascade & Mt. Hood hops added to each brew.

This beer is a showcase for hops. Strong leafy hop aroma along with some honey and malt. A bit chewy and thick for a pale ale, it is nonetheless solid, bright and flavorful, with prominent hop flavor without the bitterness, and a strong malt backbone. One of the better light pale ales, good if you don’t want excessive bitterness.

Bottle. Poured a crystal clear copper color with an off-white head that had a thin layer lasting and light lace. Very subdued aromas of hops and perfume. Flavors of grass and caramel. Medium body with a light bitterness.

Draft. Decent pale ale, but nothing special. The flavor is weak and the body lacks umph. there is just not much going on with this brew.

Bottle. Dark yellow to orange color, thin head. Tast was surprisingly good, with some sweet notes up front followed by a nice bitter hoppiness. The bitter backnotes were very nice. The overall beer was much better than I had been expecting!

Dark red-orange with a thin white head that leaves only a cover with wispy fingers of lacing. Caramel malt aroma, piney light hops, taste is good caramel backbone and a nice bitter hoppiness.

On tap at Dukes Waikiki Hawaii. Pours a nice golden orange with a small white head. ARoma of hops, and malt. Flavor is much the same with just enough hoppiness to be put into the category of decent IPA in my book. Nice IPA.

Bottle. I stole this from my sister. I do not think she has realized it. Color of amber with a short lasting head. Aroma of grass, earth, caramel, fruit and apple. Flavor was solid. Caramel and toffee, with some biscuit, apple and a light hop finish. Solid taste for the style, but what is that really saying.
