Commercial Description:
Fire Rock Pale Ale is a crisp, refreshing “Hawaiian-style” pale ale. Its signature copper color results from the unique blend of specialty roasted malts. The pronounced citrus-floral hop aroma comes from the liberal amounts of Galena, Cascade & Mt. Hood hops added to each brew.

12 oz. bottle. Aroma is nice with citrus hints. Appeareance is very amber with quickly dissipating head. Smells good, looks good...taste is only average.

Tap at the original Yard House. I think Pershing is dead on: average. While the color is darker than your standard pale ale, the aroma is undistinguished at the flavor is simply unimpressive. I detected more malt that hops, actually, and the whole brew seemed very settled as opposed to bright and sprightly as living in SoCal has accustomed me to.

Nice floral and citrus nose. Flavor had a nice light bitterness up front with a moderate roast quality to the sweet malty middle. Light herbal & citrusy hop flavor before the somewhat chewy finish. Moderate carbonation and a somewhat substantial body for the style

I had this on tap at the Old Chicago in Silverthorn, Colorado. It had a nice straw-orange color with decent clarity and a good head. It seemed to have more body than the taste would have me believe. There wasn’t much malt flavor, it was almost all hops. The aroma fell short, it wasn’t as floral as I would have liked. The taste is almost all piney hops and bitterness.

Bottle. Pours a amber color. Somewhat hoppy smell. Tastes bitter (hoppy) not much in malt flavor. Not bad.
