Commercial Description:
Fire Rock Pale Ale is a crisp, refreshing “Hawaiian-style” pale ale. Its signature copper color results from the unique blend of specialty roasted malts. The pronounced citrus-floral hop aroma comes from the liberal amounts of Galena, Cascade & Mt. Hood hops added to each brew.

Slightly sweet aroma, carmel perhaps? Very hoppy, very nice overall aroma. Amber in color, with thick white head. Nice ale, with a moderate & strong bitter finish, definitely worth a try!

Tasting 08/09/08 at Once Upon a Vine. Citrusy, floral hop aroma with grapefruit over caramel malts. Clear amber orange with a small fine white head. Citrusy orange grapefruit hop flavor with moderately sweet malt backing. Slightly fruity and nutty characteristic. Medium body with fairly creamy mouthfeel. Finish is slightly sweet with a slight bitterness lingering. Quite tasty .

Bottled. Amber colour, mediumsized off-white creamy head. Aroma is caramel, fudge, mild fruityness and grass. Flavour is grassy and fruity hops along with some toffee and pine. Wellbalanced.

Pint @ Harrisons. Ok aroma, sweet, biscuity cardboard, minor citrus. Clean brownish orange color, good head & lace. Bitter sweet flavor. citrusy grassy bitterness, a cardboard streak that dulls flavor, lite tofffe maltiness. medium body, creamy mouthfeel, bitter finish. Eh, ok, no pronounced citrus/floral for me though, kind of avarage at best.

Second taste of Hawaii beer I got to enjoy last week. I have to say that this wasn’t too bad, but then again wasn’t that good either. Aroma is pretty sweet, almost too much in my opinion, the hops come in at the last moment to save it. The pour is nothing special, yellow orange with a thin off-white head. Taste is again sweet of malts up front with a punch of hops just in the nick of time to save it from abomination. This was ok, not too bad after a long day in the sun.

Bottle from the Trump hotel is Las Vegas. Pours a light amber with a thick white head. The aroma is full of citrus hops and some caramel. The taste was basically a nice balance between a caramel malt and smooth hops, some bitterness in the finish. Very drinkable.

Pours dark amber, clear, with thin white lacey head. Aroma is mellow and roasted. Flavor begins with a nice kick of roasted malt then develops into a very nice hop and citrus finish. Overall a good pale ale, I’d have it again.
