Commercial Description:
Fire Rock Pale Ale is a crisp, refreshing “Hawaiian-style” pale ale. Its signature copper color results from the unique blend of specialty roasted malts. The pronounced citrus-floral hop aroma comes from the liberal amounts of Galena, Cascade & Mt. Hood hops added to each brew.

Nice copper color with decent white head. Hoppy bouquets of pine and light citrus peel off into the nose, and the taste yields a nice simple, but well balanced mix of bittering herby flavors contrasted with more powerful sugary and toasted malt notes. Not a bad brew, and good for a bbq.

Pretty standard pale ale yet really pleasant and refreshing when really fresh, as my sixer is. Pours a semi-hazy copper color, full creamy head. Moderately hoppy aroma with a lemony citrus and herbal nose, with a background of caramelized malts. Flavor is balanced to a T. Full rounded malts, crisp herbal hops, semi-dry finish. Enjoyable sessionish pale ale and a neutral partner to a wide variety of foods.

12 oz. bottle into pint glass. Amber, clear, low carbonated pour with average white head that fades pretty quickly. Hops and some malt on the aroma, sweet and sour citrus hops. Flavor: strange hoppyness, mellow but almost peppery, strangely off-balanced. Palate: average, medium to light bodied, with lightly carbonation but a slight tingling.. Overall: I need to re-rate this because I liked it a lot last night, when I had it for the first time; it just tastes strange now (could be the whiskey I had before the beer affecting it).

Draft at GOBF ’08. Pours a clear golden color with a slight reddish tint. A foamy, off-white head sticks around for a while, leaving some spotty lacing behind. The nose is dry, showing pale malts and cereal grains along with a moderate helping of mildly floral hops. Flavors basically follow suit, with the ever so slight emergence of some citrus character and a bit of toastiness. The palate is on the thin side of medium-bodied, with a clean, dry finish. Its a decent beer. Overall. pretty non-descript and boring, but very drinkable.

Draught: Poured a copper color with a white head. The aroma is slight hops and grain. The taste is similar hops with a soft grain and malt.

Pours a clear amber color, with a medium foamy light tan head. The aroma was very subtle in this, had some crisp grain and mild hops, but not much else going on here. No real malt presence to speak of yet. The flavor was a decent mixture of hops and the now-present malts. Gave it a little caramel flavor, with some hop bitterness in the finish. Pretty standard for a pale ale. Session beer at best.
