Commercial Description:
Fire Rock Pale Ale is a crisp, refreshing “Hawaiian-style” pale ale. Its signature copper color results from the unique blend of specialty roasted malts. The pronounced citrus-floral hop aroma comes from the liberal amounts of Galena, Cascade & Mt. Hood hops added to each brew.

12 oz bottle while on vacation in SC. Pretty decent smelling with some pretty solid notes of caramel malts, pale malts, florals, and some milder fruits. Pour of small-medium standard white head, not alot of retention, medium-light body, and brown-orange in color. Palate is nice, well balanced, though bitter notes are a bit inconsistent through out. Fruitier flavors than expected, and a certain uniqueness to this one that is refreshing. More tropical citrus fruits, mild fruits, mixed grains, light herbs and spice, and some caramel. Not too bad here. I’ve liked what I’ve seen from Kona so far.

Look if you like hops you might get let down a little but if you are just finding a likeing for hops good smart. Poors small head ,small nose ok beer if its hot and if you need refreshment and flavor this will get it done .amber in color, clear mild hops.

A golden-brown beer with no head. Aroma was crispy hops & sweet. Taste was sweet malt with not much hops to back it up. Uninspiring.

12oz. bottle. pours amber with a frothy big head...that goes away quickly. nothing special by any stretch of the imagination, but more drinkable then i thought it would be.

I bought this beer just to acquire another state (Hawaii) and really didn’t care if was good or not. However, it was a right choice. The head was frothy as opposed to foamy, tan, and two fingers deep. Falling away to just a thin layer, underneath was an orange/brown body giving off an aroma equally divided beltween hops and malt. Taste was mainly the malt with undernotes of hop. Mouthfeel was decent and the finish belied more malt sweetness on top of the hops.

Poured a deep amber color with a small head that stayed throughout. Light grassy aroma with good flavors of toffee and hops. Not anything special, but this is definitely a solid APA.
