However, it was a right choice. The head was frothy as opposed to foamy, tan, and two fingers deep. Falling away to just a thin layer, underneath was an orange/brown body giving off an aroma equally divided beltween hops and malt. Taste was mainly the malt with undernotes of hop. Mouthfeel was decent and the finish belied more malt sweetness on top of the hops. WVHouseofBeer (392), Morgantown, West Virginia, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Jul 12, 2009 Poured a deep amber color with a small head that stayed throughout. Light grassy aroma with good flavors of toffee and hops. Not anything special, but this is definitely a solid APA. Hawksfan17 (717), Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Jul 8, 2009 This amber pour was very crisp and refreshing for a warm summer day. Good balance in the flavor throughout. I am glad they distribute this on the east coast now! SledgeJr (2977), Omaha, Nebraska, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jun 29, 2009 On tap at The Yard House in SD. Pours a dark amber with an ecru-colored head. This has a really atractive citrus/evergreen/spruce like aroma. Nice grapefruit rind flavor that is mild, not palate crunching. I like. ben4321 (1041), Rockville, Maryland, USA

Overall Impression:
Half decent pale ale, drinkable but not spectacular. NachlamSie (1650), Tennessee, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Jun 22, 2009 6 pack bottled on May 29, 2009. I was expecting a little more from this given the surprising drinkability of their lager. The aroma is leafy and grassy with very low bitterness. This could use more hops and still be in the realm of light, tasteful APA’s. The flavor has more emphasis on the malt again, with generic sweetness. The finish is slightly sour and bitterness comes across as tame citrus and a spiced note that reminds me of watered down 420 ale. can8ianben (908), Pasadena, California, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Jun 21, 2009 I’m wondering if this was a mis-pour at the IPA festival at Lucky Baldwins. Sure did strike me as a Belgian beer - sweet caramel with very little hop presence at all. Floaty yeasty thingies hanging around in the bottom of the glass. I’m going to have to try this one again. presario (3002), Calgary, Alberta, Canada
