A cloudy, straw-colored beer with a creamy, off-white head. The aroma was a pleasant mixture of wheat and yeast with some fruity notes too, featuring orange and banana. The taste was sweet and wheaty, only mild bitterness. It had a wet body with a smooth and clean finish. marchcow (664), Coralville, Iowa, USA

| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Nov 30, 2006 On tap at the brewpub in 11/03/2006. Served up a foggy yellow-orange with minimal off-white head. Aroma was sweet, spicy, and full of rich clove, very nice. Somewhat sweet and sour in flavor, a hint of citric fruit and banana over a rich body and a mild bitter finish. Ernest (4501), Boulder, Colorado, USA

Head is mostly diminishing.
Body is murky dark yellow.
Aroma is moderately malty (bread), with notes of banana and clove.
Flavor is moderately sweet, moderately acidic.
Finish is lightly sweet, moderately acidic, lightly bitter.
Medium body, watery texture, lively carbonation.
One of the better offerings from Kona (and yeah, that includes the Da Grind, which I’m not fond of), an accurate representation of a German Hefe (who the heck put this in the db as an American Wheat???). luckygirl (1221), Boulder, Colorado, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 5/5 | 15/20 | Jan 1, 2006 Had this on-tap at the brewery. The beer poured a murky, light orange-yellow color with a small, frothy, off-white, mostly diminishing head. The aroma was bright with light hoppy notes of lemon/citrus, grass and apricot and a moderate yeasty note of basement in the background. There was also a very strong and neat banana overtone. The flavor started moderatley sweet and ended in an average-length, moerately sweet, lightly bitter finish. The body was light-to-medium and the texture was watery with lively carbonation. Very refreshing and interesting! ElGaucho (1730), Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 5/5 | 14/20 | Feb 21, 2005 Strong banana aroma. Murky, dark orange body with no head. Nice flavor. Fruity. Good complexity of flavors. I would put this up against most American Hefe’s and it would do quite well. A good effort. Saarlander (1579), Rancho Cucamonga, California, USA

I wasn’t too impressed, very light taste, I like a heavier Hefe, it was ok on the hot day, but it tasted watered down, and bland, not much like hefe, I’ll try it again in bottle!
