CubsClapp (13), Fort Collins, Colorado, USA Jan 31, 2008 Just had a sampler at the Kona Brewery, but enjoyed it very much. It’s your traditional German Hefeweizen with the banana taste. It’s remarkably similar to Flying Dog In Heat Wheat, and Ram/Big Horn Brewing’s Hefeweizen. You might not be blown away, but if you like a nice hef, you can’t go wrong.
nqualls (633), Tennessee, USA Jan 1, 2009 On tap at Koko Marina. This was my favorite beer at the brewpub, and the best hefeweizen I think I’ve ever tried. Poured a hazy yellow with a one finger white head. Aroma of citrus and wheat. Flavor had the characteristic banana/clove flavor, balanced with a lot of citrus fruit flavors. Great beer. jeremytoni (656), Swedesboro, New Jersey, USA Oct 30, 2008 From the tap at the Koko Marina brewpub, poured a hazy golden color with a small head. Great fruity refreshing flavor with a quick finish. shrubber85 (2598), COB Speicher, Iraq Oct 8, 2008 Tap. Sweet banana/orange and wheat malt aroma. Cloudy yellow-amber color with small head. Banana/orange and wheat malt flavor. Very well made - a very good Hefe. bobaidan (324), Farmington, Connecticut, USA Jul 9, 2008 On tap at the brewery. Pours murky yellow with a big head. Aroma is wheat, banana and a hint of spice. Mouthfeel is lively with lots of carbonation. Flavor is much like the aroma.
