Just had a sampler at the Kona Brewery, but enjoyed it very much. It’s your traditional German Hefeweizen with the banana taste. It’s remarkably similar to Flying Dog In Heat Wheat, and Ram/Big Horn Brewing’s Hefeweizen. You might not be blown away, but if you like a nice hef, you can’t go wrong.

Jan 1, 2009 On tap at Koko Marina. This was my favorite beer at the brewpub, and the best hefeweizen I think I’ve ever tried. Poured a hazy yellow with a one finger white head. Aroma of citrus and wheat. Flavor had the characteristic banana/clove flavor, balanced with a lot of citrus fruit flavors. Great beer.

Oct 30, 2008 From the tap at the Koko Marina brewpub, poured a hazy golden color with a small head. Great fruity refreshing flavor with a quick finish.

Oct 8, 2008 Tap. Sweet banana/orange and wheat malt aroma. Cloudy yellow-amber color with small head. Banana/orange and wheat malt flavor. Very well made - a very good Hefe.

Jul 9, 2008 On tap at the brewery. Pours murky yellow with a big head. Aroma is wheat, banana and a hint of spice. Mouthfeel is lively with lots of carbonation. Flavor is much like the aroma. This is a very good traditional German Hefe.

Jul 7, 2008 On tap, Koko Marina. Poured a murky pale yellow. Light aroma of wheat and malt. Flavor of spices, banana, and wheat. Body is medium-thick, nice and bold. Enjoyable, overall.
