Commercial Description:
Lavaman Red Ale is a malty, red ale with strong caramel notes and a subtle chocolate malt flavor. The pronounced maltiness is balanced by the delicate blend of Pacific Northwest hops resulting in a smooth, full-bodied beer.

On tap at the brew pub. Dark copper-red body with a light off-white head. Slightly sweet malty aroma. Flavor was malty and somewhat sweet with little hops evident. Smooth, rich body.

On tap at the Yard House, Waikiki. Hazed dark amber with a white head. Sweet caramel and earth nose, flavor is more of the same. Tasty and drinkable.

This beer holds a special place in my heart. After spending a good long time in Hawaii, this beer is always available on tap in local places, a constant choice for pitchers with buddies. Not much to the beer, caramel color with caramel flavors. Not much chocolate.

On tap at Kona Koko Marina. Pours hazy amber with a thin white head. Nose is fruity hops and sugar. Flavor is a little weak and not much of a finish. Mouthfeel is not bad.

Tap. Light toffee malt aroma. Hazy red amber color with minimal head. Sweet berry malt flavor. Decent but standard amber ale.
