| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Dec 24, 2007 I had this beer on tap at the brewery while I was on vacation there. Lavaman Red pours a predictable copper color that shines very nicely in the sun. The aroma is light and is primarily malty. The taste is heavily malty with a hint of chocolate in the background. There is a slight hop bitterness that helps to balance the malt. The beer is surprisingly light bodied for the maltiness but works well. Overall, I would say this is a great session beer. hopdog (5612), Lansdale, Pennsylvania, USA

Poured a deeper orange / copperish color with a small sized head. Aromas of floral hops, light citrus and malts. Tastes the same hoppiness with some toasted malts and light caramel. Light lacing left on the glass. JohnC (2286), Mission Viejo, California, USA

| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Jun 21, 2007 Sampled on tap at the brewery in Kona, Hawaii. The beer was a somewhat clear, glowing, bright red-amber color with a small, tan, bubbly white head that was short lived. It was very wet and sweet with a fruity taste; almost too sweet. The carbonation was low to average with some fizzyness, and a medium body. A decent beer, but a bit too heavy on the sweetness. marchcow (664), Coralville, Iowa, USA

| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 5/5 | 14/20 | Feb 22, 2007 Draught at Vino Italian Tapas & Wine Bar located at Kapalua Village Golf Course. Relatively faint aroma with a hint of hops and a hint of malt. Dark copper with steady carbonation and a small, off-white head. Tastes a lot like Keoki Sunset. Relatively dry with solid hop profile. Not so dry as to be unbalanced, however. Also reminds me a bit of Summit EPA. Enjoyable though not spectacular.
