| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Aug 21, 2008 Pours a deep yellow with thin white head. Mild aroma of sweet malts and citrus hops. Flavor was sweet malts, dough, grains and hop bite at the finish. I liked the balance of the smooth texture and the nice lemony hop bite at the end. A nice summer session beer. It may seem even tastier because I was drinking this on the beach at the Jersey shore while watching a bunch of surfers. dwaggs2 (563), Lee’s Summit, Missouri, USA

| 2.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Aug 14, 2008 She came to me a light clear yellow with a decent head which faded to a thin layer of bubbles on top of my brew. In the nose I detect faint aromas of mild hops, lemon, and flowers. Overall though, a rather light nose. After a few quaffs, I detect some crisp hop bite with a lemon spice bittering bite in the background. Smoother, lightly sweet and creamy malt characters. Later on, some hints of orange and citrus notes mingle amidst the light body and mouthfeel. From start to finish, Longboard keeps her subtle, mildly hoppy, citrus palate tinged with hints of malt sweetness and smoothness.
Definitely a lighter lager. None of the flavor profiles overwhelm, choosing instead to remain subtle and slightly subdued. Whether this is ultimately a detriment to the Longboard Lager is up to the drinker. Personally, it is a bit too light and subdued for my own personal taste. When I can grab a clean, smooth, light and easy drinking pilsner or lager from someone else, I will. Fire Rock and Wailua are still both winners from Kona, but Longboard disappoints unfortunately. djd07 (755), Houston, Texas, USA
| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 2/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Aug 10, 2008 Bottle. Pours a copper amber color with a small frothy white head. Not much on the nose but corn malt. The taste is a caramel malt with a bitter finish. A good session brew but nothing special with this one.
