Aroma is a slight floral hop and hay. Flavor is a little bisquity with grassy hay and a very mild toast. This beer ends with a tart bitterness which becomes astringent as the beer warms. Overall, decent if drunk cold on a hot day, otherwise I’d choose a different beer if available. dp (512), uniontown, Ohio, USA

Flavor is slightly skunky, with some wheat and strange hops. I just can’t get into this beer. My original rating had this as simply an enhanced version of Bud Heavy. But that’s a low blow. Appealing deep golden color but virtually no head retention. Unassuming middle, slight hop on the finish. An OK lager but not what I was expecting. Botnik (110), Carrollton, Texas, USA

I was told that Kona doesn’t ship their beer to the continental US, so I was quite surprised to find a bottle of this for sale at Lone Star Beverages, in Carrollton, TX. nzbeejay (3), , California, USA does not count | 1.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 2/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 1/5 | 9/20 | Jun 13, 2008 Its ok on a hot day sitting on the patio, goes down easy, but not much to write home about. compared to corona spikester (602), Salem, Oregon, USA

Gold with white head no lacing. Nice aroma, floral, herbal.
Sweet malts, very bitter hops for a lager.
Crisp, clean on the palate. Very close to APA hop presence. Pretty darn nice for a premium lager. Great beach beer. The label has changed from the present photo. TheBeerBaron (219), Florida, USA
| 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 1/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Jun 10, 2008 For an American lager, Longboard has the usual straw yellow color. Non existant head and this beer shows no carbonation. Looks more like a sports drink rather than beer. Smells better than it looks. Buttery wheat, hint of honey and a slight not not usual for a mass market lager. Taste is majority bitter, apparently more hops included than I noticed in the aroma. The butter taste comes to the tongue next. Palate is what you expect if a bit thicker. This lager stacks up better than the mass market majors but is below Sam Adams.
