Commercial Description:
Longboard Lager is a smooth refreshing lager fermented and aged for five weeks at cold temperatures to yield its exceptionally smooth flavor. A delicate, slightly spicy hop aroma complements the malty body of this beer.

For an American lager, Longboard has the usual straw yellow color. Non existant head and this beer shows no carbonation. Looks more like a sports drink rather than beer. Smells better than it looks. Buttery wheat, hint of honey and a slight not not usual for a mass market lager. Taste is majority bitter, apparently more hops included than I noticed in the aroma. The butter taste comes to the tongue next. Palate is what you expect if a bit thicker. This lager stacks up better than the mass market majors but is below Sam Adams.

Bottle. Light notes of grain, herbs, corn and paper. Head is small and fizzy that quickly and fully diminishes with no lacing. Color is crystal clear golden. Flavor starts lightly sweet and slightly acidic, then finishes lightly bitter. Palate is light to medium, watery with afizzy carbonation. It finishes lightly chalky and astringent. Nice and refreshing with some unexpected depth.

12 ounce bottle- poured out a crystal clear, if watery looking, yellow-gold. Aroma was straight lager; hops yeast, malt with maybe a mild strawberry(?) backer. Taste was light and crisp with just the right amount of bitterness. An excellent lager.

Finally got to try this after hearing about it for a couple of years. It is a nice summery brew that is a little bit sweeter than most lagers, but that gives it a smoothness. Typical golden color and aroma. Similar to Kirin Ichiban.

On tap @ the Hopyard, pours pale gold with lots of bubbles. Nose is a bit bitter and cardboard, as is the flavor. Clean finish.

Bottle. Pours a clear yellow, nice white head. Aroma is malt, maybe a touch of hops. Flavor is classic Lager, malt, cereal and a touch of hops. A touch bitter in the finish.

Had this at the recommendation of bartender at Myrtle Beach - Bully’s. refreshing and with berry taste. Not much to this beer however. Very light looking and tasting.

[Draft @ UFC 84] Poured a dark golden color with a small white head that left light lacing on the glass. Aroma of toasted malts, light toffee, some citrus and a bit of floral hops. Taste of citrus, toffee, toasted dough, and a bit of an abrasive finish.
