Aug 10, 2007 Pour is yellow lager like but with a bit of cloudiness and some white dissipating head. Smell is light malt, touch yeast and hops and is decent. Taste is mild light malt, with just a tiny hint of a spiced hefeweisen like taste in the middle, which I’m guessing is from the wheat, and it finishes pretty simply with a very mild sweet finish. This is worth a shot if its available, and I’m sure especially if fresh in Hawaii, but nothing too spectacular. It is a bit unique for a lager, I’ll say, though.

Aug 5, 2007 Great flavor with mild bitterness. Goes down smooth. Flavor similar to Coors Light except that Kona is smoother and more enjoyable to drink.

Aug 2, 2007 Pours virtually zero head. Slight white ring around the glass, but that’s it. Light golden color that reminds me of Coors Light. Nice fresh lager scent. Again, reminded me of Coors Light. Very refreshing taste. The body reminds me of an American premium (is that what the style is called?), but it has must better hop character, sort of like a Pilsner Urquel. No aroma to speak of. Nice beer overall for a lawnmower beer!!

Jul 29, 2007 On tap at the Harbourfront Loft in Greenport, NY. Pours a clear gold with a white head that was quickly chased away after the first few sips. Really not much aroma to speak of. The flavor was light and was typical for a lager with light malt and grass. The finish was more bitter than the typical lager with some lingering bitterness after the swallow. All around slightly above average.

Jul 22, 2007 Draught at House of Brews, 51st. Pale golden lager with a slight haze. Next to no head. Little aroma to be found. Notest of raspberry and apricots. Crisp hoppy and fruity flavours. Lightly hopped. Decent.

Jul 21, 2007 NOT BAD FOR A LAGER. FRUITY AND REFRESHING. DECENT BODY WITH GOOD CARBONATION AND BACKWASH. A LITTLE THIN WITH AN AFTERTASTE THAT I FOUND ANNOYING. ONE BEER WONDER. AND FOR THAT IT’S OK!
