Suttree (2237), Knoxville, Tennessee, USA Apr 28, 2008 Gold yellow, virtually no head. White bread, malty aroma, flavor is pretty much the same. Mostly inoffensive. Sampled at the Raleigh WBF.
Snojerk321 (846), San Diego, California, USA Jul 4, 2008 Bottle from BevMo Mission Valley. Pours to a clear, pale yellow colored body with a medium white head that quickly fades to nothing. The aroma is a bit of light, pale malts, grains, and the barest hints of floral hops. Taste is mild pale malts, corn syrup, and a tiny bit of hop bitterness. Light bodied, medium carbonated. Cybercat (362), USA Jul 3, 2008 Had this out of a keg at the Mensa AG in Denver, Colorado. It comes out a nice dark amber with a fairly substantial head, better than most lagers. Aroma is nice and malty with a touch of hops. Flavor is strong and malty, and has a substantial hop component - there is just a whisper of evergreen. Mouthfeel is lively, zingy and sassy, making it a delight to drink. BeerFanDan17 (297), Land O Lakes, Florida, USA Jun 30, 2008 Very tasty lager from Kona. Rich and flavorful. Nice balance of hops and malt... caramel? dmac (773), Toms River, New Jersey, USA Jun 29, 2008 12 oz bottle from Ocean Wine & Spirits. Pours a thin clear golden orange with an average size fizzy quickly disipating bright white head. Aroma started off with a nice quick burst of crisp hops but that quickly fades. What’s left is more of an earthy dirt with some citrus, pepper, and grass. Medium bodied with average carbonation and almost a slight syrupy mouthfeel that finishes slightly dry. Flavor of citrus rind, earth and some pepper. Well it’s gonna be long before I want another one of these because it left me feeling rather bored. The_Beer_God (2791), Newport News, Virginia, USA Jun 29, 2008 Bottle. PKGD ON MAY1908. Light gold pour to this with a rather small white head. Nose is honey, light grains, sweet malt, and biscuit notes. Some spicy hops as well. Taste is sweet and malty with more spicy hops, touch of sourdough, honey and light lemon. Some yeast and grassy notes come through as well. Body is medium with a dense fizzy carbonation. Finishes with more bread and yeast notes, soft butter, lemon, touch of honey, grains and grass. Spicy hops trail off here.
