bottle, Kaminsky’s in Charlestion. blackish brown body and mahogany at the edges. tall thin foamy medium tan head. aroma is roasted coffee malt that is faintly sweet. flavor is dry roasted malt, coffee too. almost tastes like a mild coffee stout rather than a porter. a little bitter throughout but from the roasted malt.

Draft at Big Daddy’s. Very dark black color with tan head. Roasty and toasty, with coffee and dark chocolate in the foreground. Nice sweet caramel malts. Dark fruits. Little thin, but understandable since it’s from Hawaii.

Draft at Taco Mac - pushed with Nitrogen. Pours deep black with thin light tan head. Aroma is fruity with some espresso. The flavor is juicy and fruity with a nice layer of malt sweetness and roasty chocolate and coffee. There are touches of red grape and of black currants in there - rich fruit dark fruit esters and dark malts. The finish is roasty and fruity. The mouthfeel is medium/light in body and rich and creamy. Overall, an interesting and quaffable porter.

pours mahogany brown with no real head retention at all. aroma definitely is of coffee, as well as malt and surprisingly a little lemon. taste is cocoa, heavily malted with a creamy mouthfeel, with the flavor fading to, you guessed it, coffee. its very smooth, and goes down with a buttery coating in the mouth, like a good espresso. i like that the flavor was not overwhelmingly coffee either, more of an afterthought. nice, and definitely would be something i would buy again, seeing as i like coffee as much as i do beer, and the balance for this is just right.

The single strongest coffee flavor I’ve had in a porter. It’s a big flavor on your first swig, but you get used to it as you drink the beer. Smooth until the finish, when it ends on a dry note.

on tap at Taco Mac, Crabapple. dark in appearance with little head... very strong coffee notes on the nose along with some roasted malts. medium body with the coffee and malts taking full force. overall a very smooth and delicious coffee porter... the finish brings some bitterness forward which complements the rich coffee malt presence.

Bottle. Poured a dark reddish brown, thin brown head. Aroma is caramel, light coffee and slightly metalic. Flavor is malty with chocolate and light coffee. Body is medium, finish is only slightly bitter. I was a little dissapointed, I really wanted more coffee. Decent.
