Black ,earthy with ash , some tobacco. 8- Flavor/Palate : Medium bodied with fairly frisk carbonation. Plenty of coffee charcter found. Softer, sweeter caramel and brown malts later on. Lots of coffee and roasted malt in the nose, with a slight hoppiness. Strong coffee taste. Mouthfeel is OK, finish is long and heavy on the coffee, with a slight sourness. wingman333 (250), San Antonio, Texas, USA
| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 10/20 | Feb 22, 2009 Pretty bottle, but watery on the palate. Some roast and coffee taste. Not very rich or complex. Not at all bitter. I was hoping for more because the other Kona products exceeded my expectations. MartinT (5080), Montreal, Quebec, Canada

Coffee and cream dwell in this easygoing Porter’s healthy body, diversified by roasting bread crumbs throughout.
Further Personal Perceptions:
-A veil of foam turns to a ring on top of the dark brown.
-The cereals’s personality seems to include oatmeal-like tendencies.
-Bitterness is minimal; this is a quencher for sweet teeth.
-The mouthfeel is generous yet never too big to take away from the beer’s drinkability. Carbonation is active enough to lighten up the dextrins as well.
-This is not the most complex of Porters, and I’m not sure that’s what it aims to be anyway. It’s simply an efficient and flavorful example which makes you want to tackle a few bottles at a time.

| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Feb 18, 2009 Deep brown in color with a small beige head. Aroma is of fresh ground coffee and cocoa. Taste is of coffee, nuts and roasted malts...but is rather weak. Braudog (3789), Dayton, Ohio, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 5/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Feb 16, 2009 Bottle. Deep, dark brown with a nice tan creamy head. Drinks with a velvety consistency. It’s slightly bittered with a coffee bite, but there’s also strong notes of toffee and sweet malt. Would like more of a coffee character in something billed as a coffee porter. Poured clear dark brown color with a medium creamy brown head that mostly lasted with excellent lacing. Moderate dark chocolate and coffee aroma. Medium body with a smooth texture and soft carbonation. Medium to heavy bittersweet coffee flavor with a medium to heavy bittersweet finish of moderate duration.
Solid drinkable brew that I would recommend to a freind.
