Creamy and sweet with hints of chocolate, roasted malt, light coffee, and a touch of dark rye bread. Very malty finish. Didn’t detect much hops. | 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Jan 3, 2009 On tap at Luckys. Has a dark brown thick frothy light tan head. The aroma is a roasted malt with coffee and chocolate. Good sticky lacing on the glass. The taste is similar to the aroma with nice dry finish. A good porter from Kona. nqualls (1428), Nashville, Tennessee, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jan 1, 2009 On tap at Koko Marina and in bottles. Poured a deep brown/black with a two finger brown head. Aroma of coffee, and lots of it. Roasted malt notes were present as well. Flavor reflected the aroma, with a slightly creamy mouthfeel. Good beer. LilBeerDoctor (1530), East Setauket, New York, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jan 1, 2009 Bottle. Pours black with a thick light tan head. Aroma of lots of coffee and roasted nuts. Flavor of bitter coffee grinds, lots of iced tea. Aroma is better than the flavor because I don’t like the taste of iced tea in beer. It’s an ok porter, but could use improvement in the flavor.

| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jan 1, 2009 Bottle. Starts of strong with a nice roasted coffee aroma. Flavor takes a step back into generic porter, though still features some coffee, maybe a touch of milky chocolate. Not bad. bkurtz (276), Peru
