Bottle. Pours an off-white, medium head with a black body. Aromas of molasses, coffee, and chocolate. Full body taste with a creamy and sticky texture. Soft carbonation and long duration. Very good porter so aloha!

Very dark pour, looks like your traditional porter. Smells outrageous, like a strong cup of Kona coffee. The taste is unlike a porter though, it really taste like a cup of joe and not a beer. I love porters but this one is way to over the top. It’s too syrupy. I love coffee inspired beers, like Guiness and Amber Bock, but wheres the malt & barley? Where’s the beer taste? All I taste is roasty coffee. If I wanna drink coffee i’ll just drink coffee. Kona brewing co. is great, but I was not impressed with the overall making of this beer.

Bottle in Fort Worth. Surprisingly nice and easy to drink porter. Great notes of coffe and unsweetened chocolate. Not a ’heavy’ beer at all.

[Bottle] Pours fairly dark brown with a very small brown head. Very strong coffee aroma that is enjoyable, but very one dimensional. A little chocolate did show up as it warmed. Taste once again is dominated by coffee, with little else really showing up. Fairly thin, with a long, (big surprise) coffee finish. I wasn’t terribly impressed with this.

Had this in Honolulu and then back on the continent. Pours a dark brown with a small, dark tan head that sticks around with some fair lacing. Aroma is ground coffee, roasted malt, unsweetened cocoa powder. Taste is a little watery upfront- sort of like seltzer water and then there is a sudden tang of ground coffee. This feels a little forced to me. Whereas great porters have subtle or powerful coffee and espresso notes, this tastes like inhaling some motel quality instant coffee grounds. Aftertaste is dry and unpleasant with a feeling like some of that ground coffee is stuck in the back of your throat. Overall tastes like that bad pre-ground coffee you find in a motel with seltzer water. Very disappointing. When I first tasted this in Hawai’i I was spellbound, but this tasting is either ruined from the long journey from the islands or I have become spoiled for porters.

Pours dark and sits black in the glass. The head is frothy and light tan. the nose is malty, lightly roasty, bitter chocolate and coffee. The flavor is smooth, mildly grainy, light roast, chocolate, smooth coffee, very little hop character. enjoyable.

Poured from a 12oz bottle - a nice dark brown almost black with a tan head that dissipates fairly quickly. Aroma is a nice chocolate, coffee and even a slight nuttiness. Almost reminds of opening a fresh container of coffee - but doesn’t overpower you. Nice smooth taste and very drinkable. Enjoyed this sitting in front of the fireplace listening to some good music - all went well together. I would buy another six pack of the Pipeline.

This is a really enjoyable beer. I say that upon drinking the sixth of a six pack. Beer pours dark brown with a modestely retained tan colored head. Aroma is rich chocolate, coffee, and earth. Flavor follows the aroma with lots of coffee and goodness as well as some nice roasted toasty flavors. Very good accessible beer.
