Commercial Description:
Pipeline Porter is smooth and dark with a distinctive roasty aroma and earthy complexity from its diverse blends of premium malted barley. This celebration of malt unites with freshly roasted 100% Kona coffee grown at Cornwell Estate on Hawaii’s Big Island, lending a unique roasted aroma and flavor. A delicate blend of hops rounds out this palate-pleasing brew.

Bottle. Strong coffee and dark chocolate malt aroma. Dark brown color - tons of bubbles clinging to side of glass. Thick dark chocolate and coffee malt flavor - light kiss of hops in the finish. Excellent.

dark brown with ruby highlights under a medium sized creamy tan head. coffee dominates the aroma. flavor is also loaded with coffee, so much in fact that this almost tastes like one of those chilled coffee drinks. not bitter(and raw) tasting like many coffee style beers. i really don’t even get anything similar to beer except carbonation. now normally if it doesnt resemble beer i would hate it but i’m just really impressed with the sweetness of the coffee and the low bitterness and absence of acidity and the sweet creamy flavor. they nailed this one. it’s just awesome. never had a coffee beer this good.

Pours a light black, with beige head. Aroma is malty, with lots of coffee and roastiness, some hoppy notes. Taste, light coffee / espresso just all over, from start to finish, malty, roastiness. Some grains barley/ wheat, with light hoppy presence, leaves for a nice mouthfeel and finish. Medium/low carbonation, has the signature malt / hops used in other Kona beers. An excellent porter, one of my top Kona beers. Leaves a long lasting coffee flavor in the mouth that is very pelasing.

12 oz. bottle pourd into pint glass- poured non transparent black when held to a light source, high-light carbonation of very tiny bubbles, nice tan one finger head formed but showed minimal lacing. Aroma of a dark roasted malt, brown sugar, and coffee. Hits the mouth with a wide body, malt was nicely roasted, sweet coffee comes in the middle and it’s not Folgers kids (!), finish has twang of coffee remaining and is a little acidic. Now I just have to remember that this isn’t coffee because I want to crack the rest open early in the morning to wake up to!!!

12 oz. single bottle from Total Wine in Jacksonville, FL. Pours a dark brown with a nice tan head. Aroma is all coffee and maybe a touch of malt. Taste is rather bodacious with a coffee and roasted malt combination. Very drinkable, not too overwhelming, a very nice porter.

Black beer with a pretty thick tan head. Nose is mostly coffee with a hint of chocolate and malteds candy. Whatever coffee they used in this is freakin’ tasty. A thinner bodied porter that allows the coffee addition to really shine. Easy to drink and enjoyable. Probably want more.

12 oz, bottled Aug 27, 08. Opaque black with a half-inch creamy head that deposits sugary lace. Aroma of fresh roasted coffee bean, slightly tempered with some dark brown sugar. Flavor is almost overpowering coffee at first, then some light caramel and marshmallow come to the rescue, leaving a nearly-balanced coffee and charred wood aftertaste. Medium body is a little watery (in a good way), smooth and roasty-dry. This is not my favorite porter, but I give it an extra tenth on "overall" for being exactly what it set out to be: a good Kona coffee-flavored beer.

Dark black beer, thin tan head. Good lacing. Buttey coffee aroma. Taste is like milk, sugar and loads of good coffee, and I don’t even drink coffee. Mouthfeel starts out smooth but finishes a lttle rough. Consistency is medium/thin. Finish has a lot of coffee.
