Commercial Description:
Pipeline Porter is smooth and dark with a distinctive roasty aroma and earthy complexity from its diverse blends of premium malted barley. This celebration of malt unites with freshly roasted 100% Kona coffee grown at Cornwell Estate on Hawaii’s Big Island, lending a unique roasted aroma and flavor. A delicate blend of hops rounds out this palate-pleasing brew.

12 oz bottle. Pours pitch black with 1 cm of thick tan head that diminishes into a thin oily layer. Aroma of espresso/coffee, very strong. Initial flavor is smokey malts. Flavor becomes a little more bitter by the end from the coffee. Aftertaste is all coffee and limited in duration. Light to medium body, limited lacing, light carbonation, and limited alcohol presence. Overall a nice coffee porter.

Botte from omhper, thanks. Short foam. Big coffey aroma that is also present in the taste but it is well balanced with bitterness and a nice body.

On tap, Yard House Honolulu and Kona Brewpub. Pours a darkish brown, but not opaque. Aroma of coffee, malt, and chocolate. Palate is creamy, and medium bodied. Flavor features coffee firstly, along with some dark chocolate, cream, and sweet flavors. Altogether, this beer maintains a fairly accessible sweet flavor, kind of like a Starbucks bottled coffee drink. Although this beer is not particularly unique, it is well-blended and definitely enjoyable to drink. This is one of Kona brewing’s best.

deep dark brown, modest light brown head. Huge aromas of whole coffee bean, medium roast (i.e. slight vegetal character, not entirely oily roast). Coffee dominated palate, with some sweet chocolate as well. Medium-bodied, dry finish. I love a good coffee porter, and this hits it near-perfectly.

Thanks to FlacoAlto and BeerLando, who both sent me a bonus bottle of this. Pours deep brown with a medium head. Aroma of coffee and sweet, roasted malts. Some chocolate and dusty yeast. Mostly sweet taste. Medium-light body.

My wife and I enjoyed this beer at the Kona brewery and fell in love with it. It was a great taste with a great aroma. Nice balance of coffee and porter. Very tasteful. We miss it dearly living in TN.

12 oz bottle. Poured dark brownish black wtih a small tan head. Aroma of coffee (not very roasty) and chocolate. Tastes of smooth coffee, sweet chocolate, and creamy vanilla. I like a coffee porter to have more aroma and taste of coffee then what this offered. Other then that, not bad.

light black or dark dark brown with a thin lacy head. dark cocoa/coffee aroma and a flavor that’s mostly coffee. Lots of coffee. Can’t drink many of these but a great one-off.
