Small head that disappeared quickly. Not a big fan, but not horrible. Going to leave the rest of the six pack for my roomate. Snojerk321 (2015), San Diego, California, USA

Pours black with a medium head and good lacing. Flavor matches aroma. Palate is creamy and a little thin. Still a very tasty coffee porter. Goldorak (439), Montreal, Quebec, Canada

Freshly roasted beans, exactly what I like (and expected). Even if I don’t like coffee per se I still enjoy that good coffee house smell.
Lightly carbonated, the coffee flavors are there but do not overpower. The only slight downside is the perceptable ashy finish. Very low on the hop side, but there’s nothing wrong with that. Went really well with a vanilla washed cheese I had. can8ianben (907), Pasadena, California, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Jun 12, 2008 A very rich porter - usually I find them somewhat thin, but this one had enough body to almost describe it as chewy. Lots of coffee in the aroma, flavor, and finish. Dark roasting creates a very smoky and rich flavor. Little hop tone, very dark in color. AmEricanbrew (1925), Wynot, Wyoming, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jun 11, 2008 Clear dark brown with a tight tan head. Nice coffee and roasted malt aroma. Smooth and easy drinking. Rich, hearty flavors of mocha latte with dark roasted malts. Perfect balance of coffee and porter flavors here. Dmalone102 (218), Denver, Colorado, USA

Pipeline Porter has a deep brown color, with very little head retention. I couldn’t get much out of the aroma, which was very dissapointing because I was hoping at least for a thick coffee smell, but nothing. The beer tasted great though, a subtle roast flavor that combined with a coffee flavor that was a little to subtle for my tastes. I also tasted some lactic sourness in the background, not unpleasant though. I would have liked more flavor out of this beer, but perhaps it’s beauty lies in it’s subtlety, which also makes it easier to drink.
