Commercial Description:
Pipeline Porter is smooth and dark with a distinctive roasty aroma and earthy complexity from its diverse blends of premium malted barley. This celebration of malt unites with freshly roasted 100% Kona coffee grown at Cornwell Estate on Hawaii’s Big Island, lending a unique roasted aroma and flavor. A delicate blend of hops rounds out this palate-pleasing brew.

Draft at the brewpub in Honolulu. Dark brown in color with a thin head that faded quickly. The nose immediately showed Kona coffee along with a dark chocolate bitterness. The palate also showed off the coffee and chocolate but was a bit thin. I was hoping for balance and richness in the midpalate.

12 oz bottle thanks to my SS. My first Hawaiian beer! Pours a dark red brown almost black with a thin beige head that disappears quickly. Roasted malts and chocolate in the nose. Sweet with some nuts and touch of grain. With substantial swirling a coffee bean or two is barely detectable. Carbonation is minimal. Nearly flat. Creamy roasted/chocolate/coffee flavors that meld together. Finishes with a slight spice. Ok beer. It would do better with more carbonation.

I thankfully have two 12 oz. bottles to enjoy thanks to trades with both hellbilly and SoLan. Pours a dark brown with a moderate tan head that lasted until about mid-glass and left partial lace. Pleasant aroma of coffee and lightly roasted malt. The flavor is similar with coffee and lightly roasted malt both in equal proportion and both somewhat restrained. Strongly carbonated resulting in a fizzy mouthfeel. Much milder than a coffee stout, but enjoyable nonetheless.

Fizzy brown, watery look. Some lace. Mild coffee aroma. Decent creamy body with smooth coffee throughout. Thin but not bad.

A- Pours a very dark brown, letting a small amount of light through. A small 1.5 finger light brown head fades quickly to a little layer of foam. S- Nose starts off with a caramely sweetness leading to coffee. T- Taste is fairly light and coffee forward with a mettalic twang at the end. M- A bit watery, coffee and a small amount of sweetness linger in the mouth but not in a bad way. D- This is very drinkable but for the wrong reasons. It is a bit too bland. The mouthfeel lacks thickness to support the coffee flavor.

Bottle sampled. Pours cola colored with a small tan head. Aroma of coffee, roasted chocolate malts, and traces all though small of hops to the nose. The flavor is coffee, roasted, dark chocolate, and finishes with some hoppy bitterness. Good brew.

Has an amber-blackish color. Solid. It’s smell? Like coffee beans. Tastes like a spicy coffee... oh, is THAT what Kona is? Great idea for a beer. Straight up Kona! Tastes just like coffee beans - not coffee - coffee BEANS. A little strong in flavor at first, but wears on you nicely.Bites on the palate. Medium body. Goes down well, especially after drinking a bit.

Pours dark brown with no head. Smells of sweet malt, and coffee. Tastes watery with some sweet malt and touches of coffee. Not much of anything going on here.
