Commercial Description:
Pipeline Porter is smooth and dark with a distinctive roasty aroma and earthy complexity from its diverse blends of premium malted barley. This celebration of malt unites with freshly roasted 100% Kona coffee grown at Cornwell Estate on Hawaii’s Big Island, lending a unique roasted aroma and flavor. A delicate blend of hops rounds out this palate-pleasing brew.

Not a great porter. I got this from Liquid Solutions so I have to wonder if this was sitting for a while. The aroma was average. There was some coffee and roasted malt present, but not big. The pour was disappointing. A flat thin black with no head. Taste was thin and a bit watery. No carbonation with only aftertaste of bitter coffee. As it warms, there is some roasted malt that fills the mouth but it is very distant. Blah.

12 oz bottle. Dark brown with a balsa head. Nose is coffee and cocoa. Medium body, milky, with mild carb. Taste is coffee beans and chocolate. Finish a bit vegetal. Coffee is nicely featured. A bit sweet but very drinkable.

You’ve got to be kidding me. 12 oz bottle purchased at ABC store in Waikiki, Oahu. Pours a thin black with a smallish off-white head. Aroma is all coffee and slight chocolate. Taste is thin, watery, bitter coffee, sour. I don’t taste any malts or other components of a beer. Coffee, old and acrid. Nothing to enjoy here. I have 1 more bottle so I’ll give a second try to this. But after that first one, I really don’t want to.

12oz bottle, courtesy of a trade from a while ago. Thanks! Pours a dark, clear chocolate-brown color; fizzy light-tan head with decent retention and medium-bubbled lacing. Lots of watery coffee grounds in the aroma; not much else. Medium mouthfeel: slightly watery body, mixed with decently roasted coffee grounds (though still a bit green / vegetal), roasted malts, and just a touch of chocolate, though not enough of the latter two to add any fullness or potent creaminess to the palate; wet coffee, with a bit of porter. Medium finish: dough, roasted malts, and chocolate.

Lots of coffee in tha aroma. Thin and weak malt punctuated by a smooth, lightly roasted coffee flavor but is a little too sour with a weird spice.

Bottle from someone. Deep brown, filtered pour with little head. Aroma is light chocolate, heavy roast, a milky body. Has a touch of sweetness in the flavor. Decent enough, but a little too sweet, with carbonation a bit too fizzy.

Bottle: Courtesy beerlando. Pours a deep brown color with no head. Has a very smooth and pleasant coffee aroma contrary to some brews that have an almost burnt coffee aroma. Chocolate and roasted malts are also there. Although it’s somewhat lacking in body, this makes up for it in the taste. Fine coffee-based flavor also contains notes of mild dark chocolate and malt. Good stuff.

Bottle. Pours a dark brown with a thin light brown head. The aroma is totally coffee, but not strong. The flavor is mostly a rich dark coffee with some bitterness. Really so much like a good coffee that they should sell this at Starbucks. I’m more of a tea drinker, but still this was good.
