Commercial Description:
Pipeline Porter is smooth and dark with a distinctive roasty aroma and earthy complexity from its diverse blends of premium malted barley. This celebration of malt unites with freshly roasted 100% Kona coffee grown at Cornwell Estate on Hawaii’s Big Island, lending a unique roasted aroma and flavor. A delicate blend of hops rounds out this palate-pleasing brew.

I had this on tap at Islands in San Diego. Pours dark with a small tan head. smells of smoke and coffee. It reminds me more of a milk stout than a coffee porter. Sweet flavour. Overall, fine.

Dark brown colored pour with medium sized head. Roasted malts, nutty, and of course coffee aroma. Nice sweet, weak coffee flavor, a little watery, but not bad. This was nice.

Bottle. Pours deep brown with hints of ruby light coming through. Head is moderate and off-white. Rich, but not overwhelming coffee in the nose, along with doughy malt. Flavor is outstanding- full, bittersweet toasted malt. Palate is llively and a little light.

Definitely not bad, but I wish it had a little less coffe and was maybe a little less thin. I would honestly...rather just have a cup of coffee...

Draft at Joey’s Smokin’ BBQ in Manhattan Beach on 01/19/08. Dark brown, almost cola like appearance with small head and lots of bubbles clinging to glass sides. Notes of nuts and maybe even black licorice in aroma. Well carbonated in mouth. Flavor is roasted coffee bitterness with a citrus thing going on in background. Aftertaste is mostly clean with just a memory of bitter roasted character. Better than I expected.

On-tap PP Carlsbad. This beer is definitely better than 85% of the other beers brewed with coffee. Pours dark brown with a moderate offwhite head. Smells of coffee and dark toasted malts. Tastes of black coffee. Not all that much sweetness to it. Sweet malt finish to it. Crisp and thin on the palate, good carbonation.

Aroma of light coffee. Poured black with a thin head. Flavor was like cold carbonated coffee. Not bad, but not my favorite. Too much coffee I thought, but it’s all good.
