Commercial Description:
Pipeline Porter is smooth and dark with a distinctive roasty aroma and earthy complexity from its diverse blends of premium malted barley. This celebration of malt unites with freshly roasted 100% Kona coffee grown at Cornwell Estate on Hawaii’s Big Island, lending a unique roasted aroma and flavor. A delicate blend of hops rounds out this palate-pleasing brew.

Pours almost solid dark brown. I needed a strong back light to get any penetration. Coffee aroma does come through very well. Heavy coffee flavor with almost no presence of alcoholic taste. Coats the mouth nicely and does have a slight bitter finish. I will compare this to Maui’s CoCoNut Porter and say that for a "Seasonal" they perhaps should step up the alcohol content. Very good.

Thanks to Hellbilly for this! Not as robust as I was expecting, however this is a very sessionable porter. Hints of coffee on the nose, sweet well rounded mouthfeel, with notable coffee and chocolate flavors. a very slight bitter finish

Bottled. Near black, minimal head. Evident coffee aroma. medium sweet with dense, rounded mouthfeel. Dominated by coffee and roasty malt flavours. Fairly laid back and with medium bitterness.

Bottle... Extremely dark beer that only reveals its true, blood red crimson hue when held up to the sun. Small, fizzy, light brown head that’s gone in a flash. Sweet mocha nose… lots of milk chocolate and coffee. Rich, moderately sweet, mildly bitter, chocolate flavor with tons of delicious, dark roasted, Hawaiian coffee. Medium-bodied with fizzy carbonation. Lengthy, modestly sweet, mocha finish… ends up mildly bitter.

I do smell the coffee, a little chocolate, also some citrus, subtle. no head, from a bottle, very dark. a little greasy in the mouth, weight plus slick, slight carbonation. the roasted malt flavor balanced by the coffee, chocolate, brown sugar tones, a bit of bitterness cresting from the hops—good overall balance, west coast style (bottled in Portland.)

12-4-07 bottle.
Very nice black brown color with good head. Smooth coffee smell and taste. Creamy and smooth on the tongue but not heavy at all. Just easy to drink and flavorful - a winner to me!

From a 12-ounce bottle, pours a clear but opaque deep mahogany color with a slight tan head. Big coffee aroma. Medium body, very creamy mouthfeel. Even dry/sweet dark malt flavor with complementing but pronounced coffee character. Nice job.

Pours with a light brown, two-finger head that goes quickly to a thin layer, leaving a trace of lace. Light carbonation and heavy bodied. Deep mahogany color. Nose is roasted coffee. Flavor is smooth, slight sweetness with strong coffee, clean finish. $1.99 for a 12oz bottle from Haggens Beaverton, OR.
