| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Dec 11, 2007 Is this a coffee-infused beer or a beer-infused coffee? I’ve had stronger coffee-ales than this but none that accord the beans this sort of prominence. Caffeine addicts, this is your beer. Alternatively, if you don’t like coffee, move along - there’s nothing for you here. This porter smells like a barista moved in next door and began grinding. It’s special. Pipeline was mahogany-coloured with a stunted head. The Hawaiian beans dominate the aroma but there’s a whiff of dark chocolate and rubber sole. Skinny frame, dull carbonation. Sour milk flavours, burnt coffee grounds and a dry, sweet finish. Lactic. Didn’t like this as much as I expected. Lacks balance IMO. (Bottle courtesy of Linc at Ecze’s 2007 Sydney RB gathering. Thanks to both.) Dogbrick (2906), Columbus, Ohio, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Dec 10, 2007 Thanks to Homerwantsbeer for sharing a bottle. This Porter is a deep dark brown color with a medium thin tan head that has decent retention. Rings of lacing on the glass. Aroma of coffee and hops, plus some roasted grain. Medium body with a nice coffee character. Roasted malt, hops and chocolate flavors are all present. The finish is maintains the coffee flavoring with some burnt malt and leaves a lingering hops aftertaste. This beer is pretty solid all around. JLHop (12), USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Dec 9, 2007 Strong coffee taste, overwhelms the Porter. This is what I imagine the coffee filter tastes like. Not my favorite. mbgrayson (150), Anaconda, Montana, USA

Nice dark coffee taste. Very dark, smooth, and yet I can almost pretend that this just a regular porter.
I will have this one again. Beerlando (2353), Orlando, Florida, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Dec 7, 2007 Pours a dark mahogany brown color with a condensed tan colored head. The foam settles to a thin film with a tiny edge pretty quickly, with virtually no lacing noted. The aroma is primarily all coffee and toasted caramel, with the faintest little bit of molasses sweetness. Likewise, the flavor is pretty straightforward. Coffee, caramel, and a touch of cola are pretty much the only discernible components. The mouthfeel is thin for the style, making it easily drinkable yet also lacking substance. Finishes short and roasty, fading quickly to a clean ending. Decent coffee porter, but lacking too much on the palate. ChazMania (415), Pasadena, California, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Dec 7, 2007 bottled. i agree with most of the other reviews in that it pours nice and dark with a small tan head.
Texture is very smooth. Flavor is roasted toffee and espresso. Not over the top at all. Easy drinking porter with a low alcohol conent.
