Appearance: Dark brown color with a foamy, tan head.
Aroma:Lots of coffee and some roasted malt notes.
Flavor: Coffee, nuttiness, roasted malt, and malt sweetness.
Palate:Medium carbonation with a medium-light body and a medium, coffee finish.
Overall: It actually turned out better than I was expecting. Not worth seeking out per se, but not a bad brew if you happen upon it. MaltOMeal (653), Land of Sugar, Texas, USA

| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Oct 21, 2009 12oz bottle from Village Beer Merchant in Buffalo, NY poured into a large Tim Horton’s cup sans lid. Looked pitch black, but not viscous. Aroma is very straightforward dark roasted malt with a moderate amount of coffee. I’m getting some sourness that i’d equate either to an acidic cup of strong black coffee or a dry irish stout. Very light mouthfeel, bit of a chewy chocolate/coffee finish. I was excited by the "100% kona coffee" label, and was a bit letdown that there wasn’t more coffee flavor going on. All in all a decent lighter porter and the best beer I’ve sampled from the brewery’s 4 offerings in New York State. swoopjones (1920), Buffalo, New York, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Oct 20, 2009 tap @ Coles Buffalo NY> Pours a darker brown/ black. Aromas of coffee, roasted malt. I thought the coffee would be more prounounced but the AB acquistion probably cheapened things. Flavor is coffe, roasted malts, some sweet malts, strange spritzy ness. Body is lighter than I would like but overall a pretty good porter doublea (16), , California, USA

Solid session beer. Coffee comes through nicely with a little bit of roasted malts and maybe some chocolate. I feel like it is just a little bit thin to be a standout, but I would gladly drink again. acblue (64), Seattle, Washington, USA

Aroma and flavor are coffee and malt, a bit of chocolate in there as well. A bit thin in terms of mouthfeel but otherwise quite good. scoth (290), Fort Collins, Colorado, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Oct 18, 2009 Pours dark, inky brown, with a medium tan head, very fine lasting lacing. Rich and full aroma of coffee, chocolate, and roasted sugar cane. Medium-light body, smooth and slightly chalky. Robust, pronounced fresh coffee flavor, with some sweet chocolate, toast, and a perky earthy finish. Well balanced and drinkable.
