Commercial Description:
Limited release. Swimming in a fresh water pool at the base of a cascading waterfall is what we all imagine we would find in paradise. On Maui, follow the old Hana Highway and you will find such a place – Wailua Falls. This plunging cascade of clear water is the inspiration for our Limited Release Wailua Wheat. This golden, sun colored ale has a bright, citrusy flavor that comes from the tropical passion fruit we brew into each batch. Sit back, relax and enjoy paradise anytime.

Editor's Note: Lilikoi Wheat was renamed to Wailua Wheat (both on draft and in bottle).

Bottle. Potent fruity malt aroma. Hazy light amber body, small white head. Fruity semi-sweet flavor, with yeast and wheat. Light finish.

12 oz. bottle from Plaza Liquors - Pours a hazy light golden color with a 3/4 finger thick white head. Aroma is kinda narly. Not sure how to explain it. It’s not good. Flavor is a little better. It’s light fruit and grain malt. Light to medium body. I will NOT be buying this beer again.

Crushed with Jakebra. I may have knocked this off the bottom of a pool with a pressure washer today. Smells like a chlorine-soaked citrus turd. Tastes slightly better. Not good. Thank god it’s a limited release.

Pours very very light in color looks somewhat watered down. Flavor is obviously passion fruit with a hint of childrens cough syrup.

Draught: This one pours a crystal clear orange tinged golden color. There was a small white head on it that left a little lacing. The aroma is a bit fruity, but not overly so. I believe it to be mangoes. The taste is good, if unexciting. There is a milder wheat body with a bit of the mango flavor. Like the aroma, it is not overdone. A very clean and refreshing beer. Very good on a hot day.

(12oz bottle) Hazy apple juice body with minimal off-white head. Aroma is medium sweet, berry, some wheat. Taste is medium sweet, berry, some wheat, some tartness. Light body, fairly refreshing, slightly undercarbonated.

Quick notes from a tasting: Pours a clear, pale yellow straw with no head. Nose is slightly tropical and with whispers of wheat poking through but not in an overpowering way. Palate is clean and smooth, light-bodied, and almost crisp. The flavor of the passion fruit is subtle and welcomed. A little citrus note too. Not a very complex beer by any means, but a really refreshing flavored wheat beer. Will do really well in the warmer months and would not mind having a couple on a really hot day.

Hmm.. pretty clear for a wheat beer with a pale yellow, almost straw coloured pour with aroma of passion fruit and maybe a bit of lemon. Tastes pretty bitter, but it kind of goes well with the malt as a hoppy alternative. I am sure that this would be a good thirst quencher on a hot summer day.
