Commercial Description:
Limited release. Swimming in a fresh water pool at the base of a cascading waterfall is what we all imagine we would find in paradise. On Maui, follow the old Hana Highway and you will find such a place – Wailua Falls. This plunging cascade of clear water is the inspiration for our Limited Release Wailua Wheat. This golden, sun colored ale has a bright, citrusy flavor that comes from the tropical passion fruit we brew into each batch. Sit back, relax and enjoy paradise anytime.

Editor's Note: Lilikoi Wheat was renamed to Wailua Wheat (both on draft and in bottle).

Bottle. Pours clear gold with a white head. The aroma is wheaty, with hints of tropical fruits. The flavor has a definite wheat base, with some fruity sweetness and a hint of citrus. Very drinkable.

Bottle (Total Wine & More-Ft. Myers, FL). Since I have not yet been to Hawaii I guess the next best thing is drinking beer that’s brewed there? Poured a small fizzy off-white head with poor retention, hazy body, carbonation observed, fair amount of lacing, and a pale yellow hue. The aroma was sweet, fruity, citrus and wheat. Ditto for the flavor, lightly acidic, and refreshing on a warm day. The mouthfeel was slightly tingly and this beer is light bodied. Decent balance and might be a nice beach beer.

Mostly clear yellow gold pour with a thin white head. Wheaty sweet fruit and spice aroma. Taste doesn’t match aroma and is dull but somewhat pleasant. One is good on a hot day.

A slightly cloudy, golden, yellow pour with a fizzy 2 inch white head that dissipates quickly. Aroma is gummy hops and staunch wheat malt. Taste is very fruity from the pasion fruit and quite bitter. it has a heavy fermented wheat finish. A little rough going down. Not apparently refreshing.

Bottle; clear fuzzy head; haze gold pour; slight carbonation; slight aroma of citrus. EFG 1; hints of hop around palate but not on initial intake; no citrus or fruit on palate but slightly in the flavor but not much flavor otherwise. (#59)

I really had to struggle to get through this one. The taste of fruit was nice but the aftertaste that immediately overpowered it was awful. I had to keep my mouth shut the whole time so as to not taste it.

Ehh, nothing great. Aroma of passion fruit, taste of passion fruit, finish of passion fruit. Yet after one you are done.

Pours gold with a thin white head. Smells of fruit, caramel, wheat. Tastes sweet and wheat like with a weird kiwi like aftertaste.
