Commercial Description:
Limited release. Swimming in a fresh water pool at the base of a cascading waterfall is what we all imagine we would find in paradise. On Maui, follow the old Hana Highway and you will find such a place – Wailua Falls. This plunging cascade of clear water is the inspiration for our Limited Release Wailua Wheat. This golden, sun colored ale has a bright, citrusy flavor that comes from the tropical passion fruit we brew into each batch. Sit back, relax and enjoy paradise anytime.

Editor's Note: Lilikoi Wheat was renamed to Wailua Wheat (both on draft and in bottle).

Good carbonation, scent and looks, but it tastes like light fruity gingerale. I will give it another try; maybe my tastebuds are out of whack.

Draft at the brewpub. Lightly hazy straw body, passion fruit nose. Strong passion fruit flavors with some finishing wheatiness. Very refreshing.

Bottle pours a slightly hazy, pale yellow color with a medium white head. Pungent aroma of tropical fruit, herbs, and grasses, but also hints of ammonia. Flavor is mostly dominated by the sweet passion fruit with subtle wheat. Crisp and refreshing, but I wouldn’t want to enjoy this on a regular basis. However, I think this would be a good beer to offer at a cookout for the casual beer drinker looking for something a little different.

Thanks Daknole! Unfiltered honey gold body with a small short lasting white head. Nice carbonation. Hard to find aroma. Some fruit flavor is evident along with wheat and honey. Slightly acidic. A tart Lifesaver aftertaste. An interesting beer but not particularly a good one. My first from Hawaii.

Draught Wheat-golden, clear beer with small white rim. Aromatic, simple esters and an aroma as from bamboo shoots. Citric, light fruity, like passion fruit. Sweet-ish. Refreshing, light body, some wheatslickness. Nice interpretation. This beer is probably perfect under the Hawaian sun, watching the surfers at the beach...

this is an odd beer. Beer has a nice tropical aroma but a bit watery and thin mouthfeel after the aroma was disappointing. Carbonation is nice and this might ok after a long day mowing the lawn...but I didnt think this was such a great beer.

Clear pale golden color with a thin quick white head. Aroma mostly of tropical fruit, namely passion fruit and a hint of a herbal grassiness. Light body and lower carbnonation. Slight biscuity flavor with softer passion fruit notes. Finish is clean and quick.

Bottled. I’ve been a fan of Kona Brewing, but this was a disappointment as I worked through a six-pack Very light wheat flavor with a little passion fruit. The good news is that there are no "off" flavors. The bad news is that the wheat and passion fruit flavors really don’t work that well together in my opinion. The beer also comes across a little watery. The beer just seemed to misfire.
