Commercial Description:
Limited release. Swimming in a fresh water pool at the base of a cascading waterfall is what we all imagine we would find in paradise. On Maui, follow the old Hana Highway and you will find such a place – Wailua Falls. This plunging cascade of clear water is the inspiration for our Limited Release Wailua Wheat. This golden, sun colored ale has a bright, citrusy flavor that comes from the tropical passion fruit we brew into each batch. Sit back, relax and enjoy paradise anytime.

Editor's Note: Lilikoi Wheat was renamed to Wailua Wheat (both on draft and in bottle).

Looks good, smells good -- doesn’t taste all that good. Aromas accentuate the wheat and spice, adding a refreshing bit of fruit. The palate is pretty thin and weak, however. Flavors tend toward the grainy and wheaty side, disappointing after the succulent promise of the aroma.

Color is gold with a very faint haze. Carbonation is good with a small white head. Aroma is like sour fruit punch. Taste is thin and bitter. Starting with a light body it goes down with a sour feel. Finish comes out of the sour with an odd fruit taste, a little corn and ends bitter. After taste is dry with the bitterness lingering and a foamy feel. Overall its an unpleasant fruit brew, too bitter to be a nice refreshing summer brew.

Very fresh and fruity. A wheat beer for summer with the interesting addition of sweetness due to the passionfruit. A summer scorcher beer

There wasn’t really much of an aroma, or much taste either; there was a bit of tartness from the passion fruit. It was an okay beer, but I was expecting more.

Tasting promo at a festival. Fruit malt aroma, small white head. Sweet flavor from the passion fruit. almost tastes like an IPA without the after-effects of one. Aftertaste of sour passion fruit. Also has hints of yeast and wheat. Medium bodied. It was a hot day and felt decent.
