Can from the Shell gas station near Frankfurt-Hahn airport, Germany. Clear golden with white head. Weak malts, some herbal hops. A bit watery, good bitterness. A mediocre German pilsener. Rating 5/3/6/2/9. Draught (8th June 2008) at the pub K65 in Berlin. Oviously much better draught, I gave it 7/3/8/3/14. Perhaps also due to having it at a pub in Berlin on a hot day.

500 ml bottle poured a clear straw color with a small lingering white head. Aromas of straw, bread, light citrus and a bit of earthiness. Palate was light bodied and crisp. Flavors of straw, graininess and light citrus with a crisp dry moderatly bitter finish.

On tap at the Microfestivus ’07... A greatly retentive ocean-foam head caps a dull yellow pour. There is a very faint citrus and earthen hop nose. The flavor is indicative of the style, a dry upfront palate... implied yeast. A slightly grassy bitter back isn’t necessarily intrusive, although it does grow... There is an oddly thin creamy mouthfeel, certainly not indicative of the crisp expectation. It feels just this side of watery... Overall, it’s left a bit underachieving.

Bottle. Golden and crystal clear with a white head that abates quickly. Aroma is citrus and floral. Flavor is citrus hops with a bit of sweet maltiness. Bitter hops more pronounced in the aftertaste. Noticeable effervescence. Refreshing.

Bottle. Golden pour. The small fizzy white head rapidly vanishes. Aroma seems initially skunky but expands to reveal buttery, biscuity malts, grass, and floral hops. Taste is bitter hops, grass, biscuity malts and soft honey. Body is light and bitter. Mild carbonation. Ends with more hops, flowery notes, grass, biscuit, buttery malts and soft honey.

[461-20070728] Sample @ LCBO-Summerhill. Straw and hay aroma with light alcohol. Clear, yellow body with a quick foamy white head. More straw and more hay in the flavour. Light body. Not unpleasant but light.

just above average pil. Pours a golden yellow, thin white head. Flowery aroma. Lacks the crisp finish and body of the better pils. Drinkable but not a standout.
